Texas Memorial Museum, a part of Texas Natural Science Center, is a natural history museum located on The University of Texas at Austin campus. Texas Natural Science Center’s collections include 5.7 million specimens in the disciplines of paleontology, geology, biology, herpetology, ichthyology and entomology. Interns will (1) develop natural history related educational curriculum such as tour program materials, lesson plans, and loaner kits; (2) maintain education collections; (3) teach the public about natural history topics at special events days such as Darwin Day and Family Fossil Fun Day; (4) conduct tours of the Museum to people of all ages and; (5) assist in other education-related activities.

Interns must enjoy meeting and talking with all age levels, especially children; have an interest in natural science, particularly geology, paleontology and Texas wildlife; be self-starters; need little supervision once trained in specific duties; and be dependable. Training is provided.
Flexible (M-F, 8 am-4:00 pm); will include 1-2 weekend days per semester.
