The UTeach Program was designed to give both undergraduate students and degree-holders the opportunity to explore the profession of teaching in a hands-on way. In your very first semester in the program, you will have the opportunity to develop and teach a lesson in a local classroom. The program will even reimburse you for tuition, one hour upon completion of each of the first two courses, Step 1 (UTS 101) and Step 2 (UTS 110).
Which Scenario Best Fits You?
Current Undergraduate UT Students
The UTeach Program provides a flexible entry plan no matter how far along you may be in your degree plan. You can major in one our UTeach degrees in math, science, computer science, or engineering. You can also pursue any major at the University of Texas and complete requirements for certification. Students do not have to be enrolled in the College of Natural Sciences to pursue a certification through our program; there are several ways that you can work the required courses into your current degree plan, in any college.
